5th Grade Math Worksheets

Extend place-value and fraction reasoning to more demanding calculations. Fifth-grade selections include decimal addition and subtraction, long division with two-digit divisors, unlike-denominator fraction sums and differences, and fraction multiplication.

Choose one topic for a short set and ask for a reasonable estimate before calculating. Shared pages retain easier levels for review; their signed-number options are later extensions rather than the fifth-grade starting point.

For 1/3 + 1/4, rename both fractions in twelfths to get 7/12. For 3/4 × 2/3, an area model or factor calculation gives 1/2. The same symbols represent different operations, so one rule does not fit both tasks.

With decimals, align decimal points and keep the place values together. With long division, estimate the quotient, follow the written calculation, and check the result with multiplication and any remainder.

Use the separate answer key after reviewing the learner’s explanation, then generate a fresh set at the same level when useful.
