Connect division facts with a written method for larger numbers. Start with exact facts within 100, or choose long division when the learner is ready to organize a larger calculation.
Division-fact questions use related multiplication facts and have no remainders. Long division adds adjustable dividend and divisor sizes, with exact-answer and remainder options. Each generated set has a matching answer key.
Choose the question that fits the skill
For 42 ÷ 6, the related product 6 × 7 = 42 gives the quotient 7. This is a fact relationship. A written problem such as 754 ÷ 3 also needs place-value steps and gives 251 remainder 1.
Start long division with a one-digit divisor for fourth-grade practice, then extend to two-digit divisors for fifth-grade work. Keep the remainder smaller than the divisor, and check the answer by multiplying and adding it back.
Use a small set with enough working space before increasing the difficulty.
