Example Scenarios for Using the Day Counter

Example 1: Same Month, Same Year

Let’s say you want to count the days between March 10, 2024, and March 25, 2024. Since the dates fall within the same month, the calculation is simple:

25 − 10 = 15 days.

Example 2: Different Months, Same Year

If you need to count the days between May 3, 2024, and August 15, 2024, you’ll need to sum up the days of each month:

  • From May 3 to the end of May: 31 − 3 = 28 days.
  • Add June: 30 days.
  • Add July: 31 days.
  • Add the days of August until August 15: 15 days.

Now, sum the results:
28 + 30 + 31 + 15 = 104 days.

Example 3: Different Years

For dates spanning different years, you’ll need to calculate the remaining days of the first year, the passed days of the final year, and the full years in between.

Example: Counting days from October 5, 2021, to February 10, 2023.

  • From October 5 to December 31, 2021: 87 days.
  • From January 1 to February 10, 2023: 41 days.
  • Add 365 days for the entire year of 2022.

Now, sum them up:
87 + 41 + 365 = 493 days.
